About the Digital Cyclops Team
Established in 2010, Digital Cyclops is a fusion of creativity, technical know-how, and an intense drive to keep learning. Our hope is to ground a videography service in excellent quality while helping people reach others.
Thanks to strong relationships with talented people in our network, we now offer a number of services beyond straight videography. We are proud to have grown into a principled and professional company, able to meet our clients’ needs on many levels.
Kevin : Co-Founder
An avid gaming geek, Kevin spent a good chunk of his adult life working in the video game industry, producing such award-winning projects as Triple Play, Warcraft, Diablo, FIFA, and the Dragon Age series. In addition to implementing creative elements and working with technical staff, Kevin’s work included negotiating talent, licensing elements, regional localization, and project management.
As much as he loved the energy and teamwork of being part of a large company, Kevin also craved work that made more use of his artistic talents. He already spent a great deal of his leisure time behind a camera and was beginning to film as part of his work as a producer. In 2010, he made the leap and put his collection of videography equipment to work. He hasn’t looked back.
Today, Kevin creates print and digital designs, oversees the production of video projects, and continually updates his skills with new technology. He loves getting to know people and their work, and generating that synergy with them on projects. Then, he gets into the edit bay and rides the creative flow as he puts the pieces together and polishes the result to a shine.
When not at work, Kevin can be found with a game controller in hand, bonding with his fast-growing children, or in the hills, taking in the scenery. He likes to talk about the crazy days when he had long hair and rode a motorcycle. What hasn’t changed is that the way to his heart is through his stomach: Kevin loves to experience flavours from around the world, the stronger the better – and, yes, he photographs his food.
Vicki : Co-Founder
Vicki loves writing and telling people’s stories. Whether she is researching, scripting and editing video, creating informational articles, or engaging people on social media, Vicki strives to get to the heart of an issue. One of her strengths is truly hearing what stakeholders wish to communicate. She then transforms key messages into appealing sequences, lending her background in education to effectively reach an audience.
Having spent the first part of her professional life helping youth navigate their way through the school system and push their limits, Vicki brings her organizational skills and small business experience to Digital Cyclops. She plans and coordinates tasks, managing logistics and ensuring projects are completed within budget. When many projects are on the go, she fills the nooks and crannies of time to maximize efficiency. When things are slower, she helps us take advantage of professional development opportunities or recuperate our energies to slingshot into new ventures.
Vicki’s quiet demeanor belies an adventurous spirit. Her most memorable experiences include driving across Canada to take a (terrible) summer job and meeting people from around the world while backpacking through Western Europe. Outside of work, Vicki can be found burning up the dance floor, stargazing with her family, geeking out on neuroscience, or simply being Mom.
