Digital Cyclops, Blue Bottle Games, and M. Josh Cauller work together to bring Neo Scavenger to life in this blended teaser trailer.  Although many video game trailers simply feature game play footage, through this live action / game play blend, we are immediately drawn into the story of Neo Scavenger.

For our lead videographer Kevin, one of the exciting things about working on this project was the connection to his roots in the video game industry.  Skills he acquired as a game producer, like team management and localization, will often be useful in corporate video creation.  Less often are game-like storylines part of the job.  “I love the variety and creativity of creating corporate videos.  You’re always learning something new.”  At the same time, Kevin says, “Working with video game studios is a great throwback and touchpoint to my past as part of a dev production team.”

Another unusual aspect of this project was the film-like quality to it.  Trying to match the tone and graphics of the existing game was a novel challenge.  Kevin also got the chance to flex his director’s muscles as he worked with actors Dalias Blake (who is also currently busy producing his own catchy music videos) and Dan Fedor.

Many thanks to M. Josh Cauller, who scripted the video and edited into a fantastic end product, and Daniel Fedor, the head of Blue Bottle Games, who provided us this opportunity for a fun and creative shoot.  See if you can pick out Dan in the trailer video!
