I had the opportunity to play a bit with a pre-production Lumia 1020, and it was pretty impressive.  Very solid piece of smartphone technology designed from the Camera up.  For those who don’t know, this phone is a 41 Megapixel Monster which is an incredibly impressive feat for those Finnish folk. (Say that 5x fast!)  Once upon a tech time they ruled the world of mobile phones along with Motorola. Today they are playing catch up, but it’s fair to say they’re really trying to innovate.  Compare that to the marginal changes that we can expect from the yearly iteration of smartphones, in particular the Apple iPhone 5c & 5s.

The Nokia 41 Megapixel Smartphone

So what has all this to do with a photoshoot?  Well, check out this link for a Photoshoot AND Behind the Scenes (BTS) footage of the Nokia Lumia 1020 in action.  Will this replace a video camera such as an FS100 or even an HDSLR for quick commercial shoots?  Unlikely.  But if you’re stuck and only have your measly 41MP smartphone around, you could do a lot worse.
